Born in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired farmer for Puna Flowers &Foliage, laborer for the former Puna Sugar Co., landscaper and maintenance worker. William “Bill” “Casey” Newton Case, 91, of Waimea died Aug. 16, at Queen’s North Hawai‘i Community Hospital. Born in North Kohala, he retired as water superintendent at Parker Ranch and was an honorary member of Mauna Kea Education and Awareness. Chizu A. Nakashima , 90, of Captain Cook died July 10 at Kona Community Hospital. She was retired from the Department Of Social Services and Housing, now known as Department Of Human Services, a member of the Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Buddhist Women’s Association, Project Dana, JIHO newspaper and Akitsu Kumiai.
